Orac makes the case that antivaccinationists will never be convinced that vaccines don't cause autism.
Refreshingly, he argues against building bridges, and to be perfectly honest, of the so-called science communicators, his view actually has a basis in science (as opposed to Chris Mooney). When people are strongly wedded to a position, they tend to not change their minds, regardless of how sophisticated your arguments are and how much evidence you have on your side.
We confuse the fact that people change their minds with the idea that we can change people's minds with argument and evidence. It doesn't work like that.
